fhi360 Technical Advisor, Rule of Law Approaches to Address Organized Crime in Washington, District Of Columbia
FHI 360’s Civil Society and Peacebuilding Department (CSPB) currently seeks a Technical Advisor for Rule of Law Approaches to Address Organized Crime. The Technical Advisor will serve as a senior analyst for an anticipated two-year contract to support the USAID Africa Bureau, providing technical leadership to a series of activities that will result in providing guidance on strengthening rule of law approaches to address organized crime issues in Africa. In this role, the Technical Advisor will support: five roundtables in Washington, DC; contribute to five white papers on related topics; develop a summary of USAID programming approaches to address organized crime; conduct literature reviews and field work for three case studies; and develop a report to provide technical guidance on organized crime and approaches to rule of law. .
Master’s degree or PhD in international development, international security, public policy, political science, economics or related area required.
More than eight years’ relevant experience, including experience with analytic research;
Minimum of three years managerial experience;
Strong analytical, communications, and organizational skills
Excellent writing, editorial, and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, negotiating, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with USAID contracts and cooperative agreements, and knowledge of USAID programming and policy objectives.
Fluency in English required; fluency in French preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal guidance and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines; and be a team player and well organized self-starter.
Experience working with a wide range of U.S. Government stakeholders (particularly Department of State and Department of Justice personnel) and international donors required;; experience working successfully with senior officials is essential.
Security clearance at the secret or top secret level is preferred.
