FHI 360 serves more than 60 countries, all 50 U.S. states and all U.S. territories. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: General Ledger Accountant
Primary responsibility is to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule. Work may include: Preparation of monthly account reconciliations and reports, examination of various financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to guidelines, and maintenance of subsidiary ledgers.
Independently apply accounting principles and practices to a variety of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting and/or other fiscal functions
Ensures daily operations of the accounting systems
Assist with internal and external audit requests
Assist in various financial analysis projects and closure of accounting records
Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Related Field.
3+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA preferred, but not required.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) theories and practices.
Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems (i.e. Deltek Costpoint, SAP, Oracle.)
Highly detail oriented and organized in work
Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
