fhi360 The Associate Director of Research for the Infectious Disease Portfolio - China in Beijing, China
The Associate Director of Research for the Infectious Disease Portfolio in China will be responsible for leading the implementation of a multi-site, Phase III clinical trial while overseeing other projects focused on a clinical trial capacity development project with a 20+ site clinical trials consortium focused on tuberculosis (TB) and the introduction of a new TB drug. The candidate will also provide technical assistance for a global observational study focused on TB biorepository work. The candidate will lead the FHI 360 team based in Beijing and assure all FHI 360 policies and procedures are implemented. The Associate Director of Research will work closely with scientific and operational leadership at FHI 360 Headquarters in the US and join weekly teleconferences with HQ staff.
In addition to project work, the Associate Director of Research will strengthen and develop relationships with academic centers and industry partners focused on infectious disease indicators in China and globally and in-country partners such as Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the China Centers for Disease Control (CDC), hospitals, drug manufacturers, local CROs and others working in the health field.
Demonstrated knowledge and proven experience with clinical site assessments, Good Clinical Practice (CGP) in China, ICH GCP, research ethics, clinical trials implementation
Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), contracts, budgets, informed consent forms (ICFs), pharmacy plans, recruitment and retention plans, and quality control and quality assurance (QC &QA) plans).
Experience with TB epidemiology in China, pharmacovigilance, community engagement, patient education, Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP), database design and biorepository work, are desired.
Medical Degree (MD) and have eight or more years’ experience in clinical trials and/or research & programmatic activities.
Experience implementing clinical & operational aspects of a clinical trial, collaborating with partners to drive a scientific vision while ensuring scientific integrity, and supervising a diverse team.
Proficient in both Mandarin and English.
Excellent written and spoken English and be comfortable writing final reports submitted to sponsors.
Experience with a variety of sponsors, and their contractual requirements as they relate to budgets, reporting, and regulatory requirements is desired.
